Nov 20th, 2012 – Toronto based Directica Media, in partnership with Victoria based brokerage FF4M Property Postings Inc., is announcing the launch of their new real estate advertising service: FlatFee4me.ca.

FlatFee4me.ca provides a new “Mere Posting” service that arms property owners across Canada with the ability to list their house, condo, land or cottage For Sale By Owner (FSBO), advertise it on REALTOR.ca (formerly MLS.ca) via a listing on a Board’s MLS® System for an affordable flat fee and not pay any of the traditional agent commissions otherwise associated with this kind of national exposure when selling a home. FlatFee4me.ca’s advertising packages also include sending the homeowners property listing to other popular real estate portals and out to social media giants like Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.

We’re excited to offer private sellers this new flat-fee strategy when advertising their home for sale. Having your home listing appear on REALTOR.ca, as a For Sale By Owner, really levels the playing field because now that extra exposure to online buyers, normally reserved for ‘REALTOR®’ listed homes, also flows through to ‘Privately’ listed homes and you don’t pay a 5% commission for it.

Sellers interested advertising on REALTOR.ca (via a listing on a Board’s MLS® System) can quickly see all the flat-fee advertising packages available in their area and quickly calculate their potential cost savings on commissions on the FlatFee4me.ca website.

Notable features of FlatFee4me.ca’s approach to For Sale By Owner sales includes giving the seller a “Home-Base” listing, that is used as a launch-pad to post their property on MLS® and conveniently blast it around the web. This source ad helps make up for some of the restrictions found when posting on multiple sites (including REALTOR.ca) by offering an easy direct contact form, ability to upload up to 30 photos, unlimited editing and open house announcements, quick links to social media and youtube video options. Another feature allows potential buyers to be quickly re-directed back to this “Home-Base” listing right from Realtor.ca for more details wherever possible.

FlatFee4me.ca also created a listing option that allows sellers to publish an “Agent Incentive”, if they choose to do so, on their “Home-Base” listing. This means sellers willing to co-operate with buyers’ agents through a fee agreement can still offer a percentage of the sale or a flat rate they are willing to pay to a REALTOR® bringing them an acceptable offer. In addition, Directica Media is helping to cross promote FlatFee4me.ca and new listings through a variety of popular social media engines, its HomeSalez.com network and other affiliates.

The goal in pursuing this venture by Directica Media and FF4M Property Postings Inc. is to help spread awareness that consumers have new choices available to them when it comes to advertising their home for sale.

These new opportunities are the result of the Federal Competition Bureau filing a complaint stating that the Canadian Real Estate Association’s MLS® rules were too restrictive, so the two eventually came to an agreement that would allow real estate brokerages to post a property on the MLS® using what is called a “Mere Posting”. As a result, consumers can save the money you would normally pay out as a commission upon the successful sale of your home.
